Ribal El Kallab is a native of Lebanon and began first studying the Violin at the age of 5 at the Lebanese National Conservatory of Music. A few years later, he discovered the cello and fell deeply in love with the instrument. To him, the sound of the cello was one that resonated with immense emotion. Ribal enrolled in the cello classes of several notable cellists including Dr. Olga Miziuk. In addition to his Masters’ degree in Musicology, Ribal received his diploma in cello. He performed with the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra and participated in several workshops abroad in Europe. Ribal also received a diploma in sight singing and aural skills and taught music theory and musicianship classes at the Lebanese National Conservatory of Music.
Ribal first discovered the Suzuki method in 2017. This teaching philosophy was an eye-opening experience to him. It introduced him to the learning process that traditional studio classes in music overlooked. This discovery led Ribal to enroll in his first Suzuki workshop in 2022, taking the Every Child Can course with Mark Mutter, and Cello Unit 1 with Shu-Yi Scott.
Since moving the Detroit Metropolitan Area, Ribal enjoys spending time with his family and friends, exploring, and discovering Michigan.
