Suzuki Music Academy of Michigan is the new face of Suzuki Royal Oak Institute of Music, founded in 1991 by Executive Director Mark Mutter. SMA is dedicated to enriching the lives of students and their families through the principles and philosophies of the Suzuki method. We exist to provide an excellent musical education taught by accomplished faculty with exceptional program content and superb performance opportunities.
All Suzuki Students receive both a private lesson and a group class each week. Private lessons are scheduled at a mutually convenient time for both the teacher and student. Group classes are formed based on instrument and piece level. In addition to private and group classes, SMA offers supplementary Music Theory and Chamber Music classes.
The Suzuki Music Academy of Michigan faculty is passionate about music and education, each member holding at minimum a Bachelors degree and extensive Suzuki training.
SMA students are invited to participate in 4 recitals each year. Solo and Group Recitals are held quarterly with additional seasonal performance opportunities available.
